Desktop Publishing (also known as DTP) combines a personal computer, page layout software and a printer to create publications on a small economic scale. You will learn to create page layouts with text, graphics, photos and other visual elements using the Adobe Creative Suite software.

ADOBE IN-DESIGN
InDesign by Adobe Systems is widely regarded as the page layout/publishing program for the new millennium. It gives you creative control over the layout and design of your documents or articles, posters, and other print media. InDesign is popular with users of many backgrounds, levels, and needs--from small DTP shops to graphics professionals to large corporations.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Adobe Photoshop is a popular and powerful image enhancement program which allows students to edit and create pixel bases (picture) images for various designs and layouts. Students learn how to use the tools, how to isolate sections of an image, how to create masks and work with image layers, how to add and manipulate text, and how to enhance an image through color manipulation, separation, cropping and/or change.

Illustrator is the industry-standard illustration program for print, multimedia, and online graphics. Whether you are producing artwork for print publishing, an artist producing multimedia graphics, or a creator of Web pages, this program offers you the tools you need to get professional-quality results.
QUARKXPRESS
A versatile and powerful program which allows students to combine text and graphic images easily in various layout designs. Students learn page creation, how to use the tools, how to format text, import and manipulate text and graphics, how to draw objects, and the use of color.
